Climate

Umbria has a characteristic Mediterranean climate even if protected from its position inside the. In the summer the climate is warm and dry, and in the winter, mild. The Apennine makes a barrier to the influence of the Adriatic's sea and to the North-east cold air. The topography with several changes in altitude and position establish a huge variety of climate's environments. Surrounding the Trasimeno Lake, during the year round, climate is generally mild.

Throughout the region, the temperature rarely hits low levels and the vegetation is typical Mediterranean. Rain is mostly concentrated during the autumn season versus the period of June - September where the weather is stable, dry, and warm. Air is generally clean and dry throughout all the year thanks mostly to the contents of the air arriving to the region with low content of humidity.
